After the flurry of sewing summer dresses my sewjo has decided to take a vacation. I can't really blame it since I held it's nose to the grindstone for 3 months. Hopefully it's enjoying some traveling and will return soon bearing souvenirs. Bring FABRIC!
So in the mean time I'm puttering away on the
Mae Blouse from Blueginger Doll. Do you like the vintage cotton I scored on Etsy? It's berry berry nice. #badpuns. Anyway the pattern is super easy and should be done by now, but lack of sewjo makes you easily distracted. Squirrel!
The main source of distraction is the new sweater I cast on, the
Thermal Pullover from knit wear Fall 2012. This pattern has been in the mental "to knit" column for over a year and looks like the perfect layering sweater. I'm knitting it out of some long stashed Cascade 220, cause I've not no more room to stash yarn. Yep I'm a dual stasher....maybe a triple stasher if you count patterns. "The power to stash is strong in this one."
So if you need me I'll be on the couch watching streaming TV with needles in hand or cursing at my sewing machine. Smell Ya Later.
Hehe, you make me laugh as always. I can't wait to get back to knitting this fall!!! I have such trouble matching patterns to yarn it takes me forever to get things figured out and started.

I've loved the sneak peaks on Twitter of your Mae Blouse and can feel your buttonhole pain. My machine randomly sews half-size button holes. Luckily (or unluckily) I don't know how to knit so I'm only a double-stasher.

ReplyDeleteSo is there a good marker for when a stash turns into hoarding. I'm pretty sure the fabric stash is on the cusp.
:) I just put Yoda ears on my toy frog and have him instruct me in the ways of stash. Sadly his powers don't extend to fixing the damn buttonholer. Maybe I need to threaten it with a wrench. :)

ReplyDeleteI think it's somewhere around the part where you have nearly as many scraps as you do garment-sized pieces of fabric...? Or when you have too many pieces that are "too good to cut" and nothing that you're quite willing to sacrifice because "I need to lose about 20 lbs before I sew that up into something".....or maybe I'm the only one who does that?
