Bonus Bluegingerdoll Hack

Those of you who follow me on instagram will remember the hot pink Peggy skirt I made in January.
To get around the fact that A-line skirts and my figure don't mix, I redrew the side seam shape to that of a pencil skirt.  A few inches of length was chopped off and the "Pegged Peggy" was born.  Full tutorial on this process is over on the Bluegingerdoll blog. I'm working on my girl scout tutorial badge. ;)

  2. So sassy! I love this skirt! I'm glad that you did a tutorial- I'm excited to check it out! A-line skirts are not my friend either. Since I don't have curves, I like to fake them with pegged skirts.... plus A-line skirts make me look like I'm on my way to junior high school, UGH!

  3. Love everything about this skirt on you. Between your post and Mary at Idle Fancy's version of this versatile skirt I ended up caving in and ordering the pattern today. Hope it turns out as lovely. Also excited about such roomy pockets (I am a little pocket obsessed!)

  4. I saw Mary's peggy skirt today too. That fabric was just gorgeous and I might have slobbered over it a bit. Can't wait to see you sew your own peggy up. :)

  6. Thanks Kristin, I'll be buying more hot pink the future. I didn't realize it was such a flattering color.

  7. Wooo weeee sassy. I love it! Isn't it great that we can tweak stuff to suit ourselves. I want you to be sazzy too, not looking like a private school student. :)

  9. Thank you Maris. Once I got the whole zipper done I realized by other people really like sewing them. It is a nice finish. Now I have to look for some new techniques to learn.
